Seasonal and locally grown produce are becoming very popular nowadays since they have several benefits when used. They have several benefits when compared with the supermarket food because of their nutritious values as well as the health benefits. Most of the people nowadays would want to know where their food comes from in order that they support the local suppliers especially in the rural areas.

Locally grown produce are fresher than the food that are found in the food stores and supermarkets. This is because these stores buy these foods in high quantities and store them but not all of it will be purchased on the day that was made available on the shelves. Another benefit of the locally grown produce is that it is tastier since it is packed with more flavor than the supermarkets. One factor that leads to locally grown produce becoming tastier is because of the storage time because the food that is stored for longer time will lose sugar and starch and this will greatly affect the flavor.
