nutrition mythAs with any science, the science of nutrition too has many myths attached to it. Let us take look at the most popular ones.

Myth #1:

Skipping Meals help you reduce weight. This is true to some extent. You do lose weight but you lose your energy too and with the energy, you lose your immunity too and ultimately you are in bed suffering from mal-nutrition related diseases. Do not skip meals. Reduce the intake. Take some light food whenever you feel hungry

Myth #2:

Eating High Protein Foods will help you reduce weight. This is quite opposite to what we want to achieve. In the initial stages, it appears that you are loosing weight as your body does not suddenly accept high proteins and releases it so in effect it did not retain whatever you ate giving you a feeling of weight loss. In the long run, you get used to the metabolism and end up increasing your weights.

Myth #3:

Fad Programs are helpful in loosing weight. Yes they are. As long as you are under the program, you keep on loosing the weight. As soon as the program ends, you end up eating double the quantity than before and get more weight. Fad programs are useful only if you are attending a beauty pageant or preparing for a function. It has no long-term effects.
