Prevent macular degeneration with nutrition

Though medicines are not known to impact macular degeneration, many spots in the eyes can be saved from deteriorating by taking proper dietary measures. The idea is to use a variety of food products in a disciplined way. Fruits and vegetables have abundant amount of beta-carotene. This helps in preventing the degeneration. Even spinach is a great source of combat against the disease.
The flavonioids present in bilberry protect the vessels of the eyes and prevent the formation of inflammation in the veins running in the eye. Bilberry can be taken in, in juice form, tablets or as other product derivatives.
Vitamin C helps in healing the infirmity of the eye, it thus prevents the cornea from dying down and is also very strong aid against glaucoma. The idea is to delay the onset of degeneration of macula and Vitamin C proposes to do that quite well.
