StatinBy now almost everybody is aware of the fact that the cholesterol level is directly related with the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Statin is known to reduce cholesterol level to a great extent but this drug does not come free of side-effects.

It has been observed that Statin causes a significant rise in the liver enzymes. However, doctors and researchers have concluded that a mild rise is safe but if there is a moderate rise, it should be better to put a stop to the consumption of this drug. Continued consumption might cause the liver to damage completely.

Muscle pain is another side effect of Statin. This is mainly accompanied with soreness and tiredness of muscle joints. If neglected, it can be severe enough to experience rhadomyolosis, which further leads to severe muscle damage and thereafter kidney failure and death.
