Winter is pretty damaging on our skin making it dry and chapped. Here are some essential tips to prevent flaky skin in the cold season. Firstly, doctors always recommend consuming gallons of water (8 cups minimum) in the winter season as water keeps your skin well-hydrated from inside substituting the moisture loss.

Then, make sure to go for mild soaps or cleansers as the regular soaps are harsh on skin and will strip off the natural oils from your complexion. The next tip is to take short and warm showers as prolonged hot baths pull out natural oil components from the skin leaving you dehydrated.

Besides, don’t forget to moisturize yourself effectively post shower which would prevent the skin moisture from getting evaporated and also provide your skin with an additional hydration. Your lips, elbows, knees and heels need to be moisturized especially. Lastly, don’t stop using the sunscreen lotion as it’s for throughout the year and not restricted to the summer months exclusively.
