When water acts as a nutrient

Performance of athletes in the winter season is usually degraded due to the unawareness of special nutrient needs of their bodies. The reason is that in cold weather conditions, the temperature level of the body is drastically reduced and the metabolism rate is incredibly increased, this demands you to burn more calories to keep yourself warm

Athletes will have to make strenuous breathing when performing, which results in the loss of water content of the body. In winter conditions, water is the prominent constituent that acts as the nutrient. Hence the biggest concern for winter season athletes is dehydration which should wisely be managed by excess water intake to compensate the severe water loss during respiration.
